Hamburg International Arbitration Days 2023

The Bucerius Center for International Dispute Resolution (CIDR) had the opportunity to welcome excellent speakers and guests from all over the globe for several events.

Luther Dispute Resolution Lecture

Within the Luther Dispute Resolution Lecture on 27 March, we had the pleasure to have Professor Claus Kreß, from the University of Cologne, speaking of the Question of Reparation in Russia’s Aggression Against Ukraine for over 120 guests.

Professor Claus Kreß used his large expertise in the field to explore different views on the clarification of the legal basis for reparation, the definition of the latter’s scope and the discussion of how best to implement reparation in practice.

Bucerius HIAD Conference

On the following day, 28 March, we hosted in cooperation with CAM-CCBC, Hamburg Arbitration Circle (HAC), the Rechtsstandort Hamburg and Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek the traditional Bucerius HIAD Conference. Our excelent speakers from different jurisdictions around the globe debated on the topic of Arbitration with State-Parties and shared their experience from both academic and legal backgrounds.

The discussions involved topics such as immunity, enforcement, curruption and more salient issues. The Conference was follwed by a reception at Taylor Wessing. Later we had a very pleasant evening at the Speicherstadt and enjoyed a four-course menu within our Networking Dinner.
