Medical and health law in Germany is a complex matter, as it is necessary to control and steer structures that have grown up over a long period of time, which are in conflict with each other and pursue partially different interests.

However, the focus is always on patient care that is as high quality as possible and at the same time economically viable, and thus on ensuring the health of the population and combating disease in case of need.

German Encyclopaedia

In order to prepare the basis for comparability with the systems of other countries in the world, the German Encyclopaedia for medical law has been set up and continued, which provides extensive insight into the health law and health policy of the Federal Republic of Germany.
