Corporations may engage in strategic political speech. This speech enables the corporations to differentiate on politics. Firms that differentiate on politics have an incentive to encourage political polarization. This effect is illustrated with a historical example involving the Ford Motor Company and is used to explain an economic rationale.

A lecture held by Prof. Alan Miller, Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair in Law and Economics, Faculty of Law, Western University.
