Education & Study |

Where did you work before coming to Bucerius Law School?

Before coming to Bucerius Law School, I was living in Kyrgyzstan, where I was studying as an exchange student. Eventually, I began working remotely in a legal consultancy firm in the United States, as well as participating in several social projects.

Why did you decide to study in Germany?

I chose to study in Germany because of a combination of compelling factors that I believe will greatly enhance my educational and professional journey. Germany's renowned academic prestige, the exceptional quality of its education system, and the eminence of its universities greatly captivated my attention.

Pursuing my Masters in Law and Business in Germany fits in perfectly with my professional goals, and I'm excited about the opportunities this country has to offer. Having had the opportunity to visit Germany on numerous occasions, I became more familiar here with the culture, and society which influenced my decision on pursuing my masters here.

Also, I believe that immersing myself in the academic environment here will provide me with not only an excellent education but also the opportunity to become proficient in German language which is one of my favorite languages. Therefore, I can say that my decision to study in Germany is motivated by academic excellence, program alignment with my career goals, and the amazing opportunities it has to offer.

What makes the MLB program special in your opinion?

I'm particularly drawn to the Master of Law and Business program because it's quite unique. The combination of business and law in one program is not something you come across every day. It offers a valuable opportunity to study both business and law from an international perspective, which I find special.

The professors teaching this program have impressive backgrounds, and their insights make the classes truly engaging and informative. The academic excellence is evident, but it's not the only highlight of this program. What sets it apart is the diversity of the student body. We get to connect with people from various backgrounds, which enriches our learning experience.

In class, we have fascinating discussions where everyone shares their experiences and insights from their respective countries, relating them to our coursework. This results in a mutual exchange of knowledge that benefits us all. Overall, this program offers a wide range of specializations, diverse degrees, and captivating classes. It starts with the basics of business and gradually delves into the legal aspects of different topics, which I find truly amazing.

What are the biggest differences between Afghanistan and Germany?

Afghanistan and Germany are very different countries, both countries being so much different in their geographies, the government system, the cultures, different languages, different food and more.

You worked in a Social Well-Fare Rehabilitation Program. What are your future career plans?

I've always been deeply committed to giving back to society through projects that have a positive impact on people's lives. The desire to help and make a difference has been a driving force in my life, and it is why I have previously actively participated in various humanitarian and social projects.

These experiences have only strengthened my resolve to use my Master of Laws and Business (MLB) program knowledge and insights to effect positive change in the future. With its dual focus on business and law, the MLB program provides me with a unique skill set that I believe can be used to address critical issues in both sectors. My long-term goal is to become a lawyer who specializes in areas where business and law intersect. My ambitions, however, go beyond the professional realm.

I am also determined to continue volunteering and to start a project to improve the lives of people in my community. In essence, my educational and career goals through the MLB program will be tightly connected to my future career goals paving the way for me to use my skills and expertise to positively contribute to both business and law, as well as the betterment of society as a whole.

What's new to me in Hamburg is the experience I'm gaining at Bucerius Law School. While I've visited Hamburg before, studying at Bucerius is deepening my connection to the city. Through my studies, I'm getting more acquainted with the city, its people, and German culture.

German law is going to be important to me in the future for a number of strong reasons. First of all, it will give me a solid foundation and a thorough understanding of the German legal system as I continue my studies in German law. Therefore, I can say that German law will play a major role in my academic and professional career since it will give me the know-how to succeed in a globalized legal environment.
